Martin Sleeman Amendment/correction to previous entry. Apologies to all but i made a mistake regarding my Mother's maiden name and my Nan's First name. My Nan's first name was Dorris not Dorothy (i always called her Nan)and my Mum's maiden name was Richards not Warren (must have been thinking of the lovely Warren's pasties in Truro Cornwall). Lynne Marie Sleeman-Leshnak My brother, Art Sleeman, Jr., has done extensive genealogy research on our family. I am his younger sister. We both live in Cincinnati, OH. He has visited Cornwall, England and met a few of our distant relatives within the last couple of years. He E-mails with Michael Sleeman and now posseses a book on the Sleeman ancestors dating back to the 15th century, I believe. He received that from a very wonderful couple he met while in England. (I'm sorry, right now I forgot their names). Art takes great pride in any information or artifacts that he obtains regarding our heritage. rob northey I am trying to find information on Emily Sleeman who was born in Cornwall in 1847 ( ? }married Josiah Northey then emigrated to New Zealand. She died in 1893 in Kew Lunatic Asylum.
Daniel White My interest stems mainly from having a close friend whose name is Sleeman and from my studies of the Raj. Sleeman was an nineteenth century Indiana Jones in his heroic elimination of the vile Thugee cult
Nardine Sleeman I was actually born in New Zealand and have lived in USA for four years
Kathleen Sleman Dolan I have an old postcard from my great-grandmother saying that she found our Sleeman family records on a trip to England in the 1930's at Warbstow Parish in Cornwall. I found the 1841 Cornwall Census online and found a listing for our ancestors Richard & Joanna Sleeman. I am still working piecing together our family's geneaology from various sources. I'd be happy to share what I have so far or email with anyone connected to Sleeman's from this area. I believe our branch emigrated to Canada and my grt grt grandfather John Sleman entered the US just before the Civil War -he served in Stokes Battery & was a POW for a time. He ended up in Washington DC and my family is still here, somewhere along the way we lost one of the "e"s and now spell it Sleman.

Cindy Sleeman I am a desecndent of James Sleeman & Ann (Howells?) of Wales, and their son Evan Sleeman who was born in Mitcheldean in 1825. Evan, and his wife Ann Jones of Ruardean Hill, Gloucester, emigrated to USA. I would love information about the family he left behind. He had a brother, George, born in Swansea, and married to Mary Tippens. He had another brother, William, and a sister Margaret - both born in Mitcheldean. Would also love information about their ancestors.
Jasper Sleeman-Hiscock Sleeman was my Paternal Grandmothers name. I think that she originally came from Cornwall (the far South-West of England). Jessica Sleeman Gary Sleeman I am from the U P of Michigan. My Fathers name was Ralph Sleeman And my Grand Father was John Sleeman. Both came from Negaunee Michigan. DARYL HUGH SLEEMAN Don't know a lot about where the Sleeman family originated - it was thought they might have come from Bendigo Victoria - Gold rush times - early 1900's but before that it I have no idea my father was Garnet Keith Sleeman, his father was James Sleeman sean sleeman ........... Sleemania! ........... This Sleeman invites comments from Canadian (or clued - up on Canada) Sleemen and Sleewomen on the subject of Canada. I am considering a long holiday there - and would like to hear from anyslee with knowledge on the subject. Things like, 'How to pass the winter months' or maybe 'a good reliable car/ pickup for touring Canada' or even 'Where to find good live music in the city'. the choice is yours - all subjects are open - including 'should British people be able to claim political asylum in Canada??' fellow Sleemans, and knowers thereof; I await your guidance ;) Stan Sleeman Just stopped by to say hello. MORGAN AMANDA-JANE SLEEMAN I'm the daughter of Bruce Sleeman and Jo Barret/Lines both from New Zealand. My grandfarther was Jack Sleeman married to Dorri Le Page (?) I have a copy of the sleeman family tree book (Some where) and know that we are related to the Cornwell(UK)Sleemans. I'm currious about the other sleemans out there and would be only too happy to hear from some of you.
Sarah Mey (nee Sleeman) How cool! I was bored and thought I'd see what came up if I punched Sleeman in, & WOW, what a shock. Great Site!!
Brian Sleeman Nice to see the new site up and running; I'd visited the old site some time in the past and thought I might stop by again out of curiosity to see who else had signed in. Unfortunately my info on the Sleeman family only goes back a couple of generations, to Albert Sleeman of Champion, Michigan (Upper Peninsula). His son was Robert Sleeman, my grandfather, who passed away in the fall of 1997. Robert had five children, three of whom are still alive and kicking and include my father, Curt. My aunts Debbie and Pam also live here in Marquette. My siblings are Sarah, 16, and Chris, 20. There are more Sleemans who are very closely related and live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas (including yet another Brian - there are at least four of us: the two I mentioned plus one or two in Australia, for one of whom I mistakenly receive the occasional email, and the other I understand is a mathematician; and another in California who is apparently quite a professional fighter). For a little info on us: I am currently an assistant golf professional at Marquette Golf & Country Club in addition to a graduate student soon to begin pursuit of a PhD in American Studies/musicology from the University of Texas in Austin. My brother Chris is an expert snowboarder who regularly competes in regional and national competitions at the amateur level, and works in a variety of jobs around the town of Marquette. My sister will be a senior in high school and thus still has no clue as to what she wants to do in school. I would really love to hear from other Sleemans out there - please feel free to drop us a line through the email address I provided. I would greatly appreciate further information on the Sleemans of old England but am really interested in hearing what the rest of you are up to, where you live, etc. Take care and best wishes to you all!
Cindy Sleeman Am interested in Sleemans from Swansea Heidi Sleeman-Winkler Please note I have moved and changed my email address since I was last here in 1998. Neil Sleeman-Smith My Father is Micheal Stewart Sleeman as for his background I don't know much. My Mother left him when I was about 6 months old due to abuse and re-married a Smith. As we did'nt want to be a Smith (Too common) we tagged the name Smith onto the end. As far as we know we are the only Sleeman-Smiths in the UK. If any one knows My Father I would love it if you e-mailed me as I would like to get in touch with him, I know he lives in Virginia Water in the UK. If any one wants to get in touch please e-mail.

Pam Sheers I have been searching the family of Daniel Sleeman and Charlotte Simmons circ 1800 to 1850's in South Hill, Cornwall then the Children Jane, Celina and William came to Ballarat, Victoria.
Pauline Parker Does anyone out there have any details about William Sleeman or his relatives? William moved from Cornwall (St. Ives or Padstow) to Cardiff and married Louisa Davies in 1829. The above are my gt. gt. grandparents. My gt. grandfather, also William, then moved to Swansea and married Elizabeth Owen in 1870. I would be delighted to hear from anyone who thinks they might be able to help.
Brian Sleeman I see I'm the second Brian Sleeman to access this page; Brian in Australia, I think I have some email for you... Anyway, I'm the son of Curt Sleeman and Linda Luokkala, and I have a brother, Chris, and a sister, Sarah. My grandfather was the late Robert Sleeman, and my grandmother's name is Janet. Their other children (my aunts) are Debbie and Pam, and the list of cousins includes Jessica, Jason, Lisa, and Brooke. We're all in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, aside from Jessica who has moved to Grand Blanc near Flint. We're also related to the Sleemans in Ft. Worth, Texas, including yet another Brian. That's just a quick listing...I could probably dig up some deeper information if requested.
Sidney Kitson I am a retired police officer. I have read much about sleeman, and visited the areas where he worked, and also have met some descendants. As a philatelist specializing in police stamps, I have brought out a special picture postcard ,and a postal cancellation concerning him, as the greatest policeman who ever lived, destroyed, in 40 years a cult who were responsible for a million murders over centuries. S.K Alan Sleeman Pamela M Smith Great site and heaps of info. One day I will strike it lucky to find a Charlotte Sleeman born 1848 Born Stoke Dameral Dev. Married a William Moxsom.
